All payments are made the same day and via bank transfer. The payment comes directly from the ATF (Authorised Treatment Facility) that has collected your car for scrap.

Scrap vehicles - If you accept a quote for a scrap car collection, we are acting in a third party capacity. We give you the best offer from your local scrap yard and we arrange the collection of your vehicle alongside your local scrap yard. Payment is processed on receipt of your vehicle at the scrap yard. You are paid directly from your local yard for your scrap vehicle.

There are many comparison sites for scrap cars online. We are different at SPB because although we are arranging the purchase/sale of your scrap vehicle, we stay involved through to collection. We can also offer price matching or competitive pricing in a more tailored way which is why we don't have a one quote calculator on the website.

You deal with us from start to finish.

We can accept cars with lost keys as long as all parts are complete on the vehicle.

£50 will be deducted for all cars that have no key. 

Once you accept your quote, we will be in touch to arrange collection via your local scrap yard. It will be one of the yards drivers or one of our representative drivers that collects your vehicle. 

It is not possible to pay cash for a scrap car. It is illegal for anyone to be paid cash for a scrap car. Payments must be made via bank transfer. 

We act as a third party intermediary when it comes to purchasing your scrap cars. We work alongside your local scrap yards in order to bring you the best prices. 

An ATF is an Authorised Treatment Facility. These are authorised facilities ie scrap yards that are approved to deal with your scrap cars in line with environmental laws. It is illegal to scrap your car anywhere that is not an ATF. 

Once your car has been destructed, you will receive a certificate of destruction (COD). This will confirm that the car has been destroyed in the correct manner and will also show the date that you ceased to be responsible for the vehicle. 

The question on whether a car is a scrap car is a subjective one. This is a question for the owner. If the owner considers their vehicle as having no use and reached the end of its life then this would make the car the owners waste and hence a scrap car. 

A scrap car is defined as scrap if it is regarded by the current owner as waste and therefore reached the end of its life. This is why they are sometimes called ELVs (End of life vehicles).

We buy all unwanted vehicles but we do not accept vehicles that have parts missing. We do not buy shells of vehicles.

In order to get your guaranteed price for scrap, the vehicles must be in complete condition. Complete condition means no parts missing and all 4 wheels present.

Your logbook will be dealt with on collection.
